On 11 January 2016, Brett Steenbarger wrote about my book Crisis? Let’s Beat It! on the Forbes website (http://onforb.es/1ShtOVy). Steenbarger, who writes about the psychology of traders and markets and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, noted my conclusion that over 90% of successful business people engage in two behaviours: (1) they make lists to prioritize their work and (2) they spend time each day and week preparing for the next day and week. In other words, successful businesspeople are anti-procrastinators.
And he goes on to write:
“What if, like Virardi’s businesspeople, we started each day with a list and detailed preparation? Each day would become an exercise in mastery, an expansion of our energy, an extension of our sisu… how far could we climb by refusing to yield to our self-imposed limits? Outside life’s comfort is the person we’re meant to be.”
I am delighted and honoured that a writer of the calibre of Brett Steenbarger, has not only read my book but has used it as a basis for sharing his own thoughts with readers of Forbes, the leading global media, branding and technology company.
I wanted to share this with all of you!
